SHe is so lovely and understanding towards DS2's needs. She has been his 1:1 since he was in nursery so this would be her third year with him.

Today she has told me she has applied for a laptop for him to use at school! He can't write well, or at all really, but is great with a keyboard, so they are going to get a laptop for him to do most of his school work on Grin.

I put her name forward for a teacher award last year, she didn't win, but she got a certificate. She is amazing.

Lovely :)

My DS's class TA is amazing as well. He's only had her 6 weeks but I'm very pleased. If she sees he's getting fidgety or agitated she just takes him out for a run round the playground.

The school also arranged the school fire drill to take place when DS was out at an appt because they distress him so much. I am in awe at how thoughtful that was.

Ds2 has two TAs and they're fab! They talk to me in detail every day about how he's doing and are constantly thinking creatively about the best ways to help him make progress. This is their second year with him and I'm already worrying they won't be with him next year (it's school policy to move everyone around every two years or so).

How lovely, that really gives me hope for when ds starts school next yr,

PS I love ds's portage teacher, she is so brill, she likes ds and so positive about what he can do, and about when he achieves something new.

Have just noticed that Our aims for next week are written as 'having a lovely time away' (we are off on hols) Bless her, it's like being given permission to actually have a rest and not 'work on things' with him...
