hiya, just wondered if i can ask you something, i am trying to improve my french and as such have got a french penpal to try and improve my french and because i enjoy it, i wonder if you might be able to tell me how to say autism in french or asd or soemthing like that pretty please??????

OK, well autism is simply "autisme" or you would say "un enfant autiste" for an autistic child or "enfant avec de l'autisme" if you prefer to say a child with autism. The usual diagnosis here is technically "trouble envahissant du developpement" which translates as "pervasive developmental delay" but to most people outside of SN-world that is pretty meaningless!

Oh yes, and for special needs you just say "handicappe" (with an acute accent on the final "e" which I can't do because I'm on a UK laptop right now). political correctness has yet to arrive in France!
