DS is going to school today. He is very ecited about it. He likes school A LOT. He loves the fact that he'll havea uniform like the big boys, BUT he is very anxious that there will be new people, and that he will meet new people.

We have also worked hard over the summer, and could not confidently say that he has sensory issues, which I think they need to be aware of, on top of the issues they flagged around being scared and upset when routine is broken, and also that they are right that he has poor fine motor skills (this is going, especially to be an issue for him at PE when he can't put his clothes on - he can just about take them off now)

I don't know whether, since school pointed most of his issues out as being potentially ASD, and given that a lot of the teachers at nursery are the same as at preschool, I should just trust that they know him?

On a different matter, we went out for dinner yesterday, adn it was GREAT, we had a waitress who happily talked about random things as long as we helped her out when he was so random with his information giving (he doesn't converse so much as tell people loads of facts) AND they allowed him to have brocolli with his dinner instead of baked beans! (he will NOT eat baked beans because they are "squidgey" AND he will not eat ANYTHING which has remotely touched anything sauce ish, so baked beans are a big no no, and he doesn't like peas)so he even had his top favourite dinner, chicken, broccoli and chips, all separate on the plate. This resulted in a, what I imagine to be normally painless, eating out experience. :)

lovely news on the meal out Smile

Believe you me, the teachers will have discussed issues of the various kiddies coming up and they will all be aware. Transition meetings are usually held in July in most schools.

hth - hope he has a great day!!
