Hi Nikita, welcome to the SN board. Most people like to keep their anonymity on MN, so we tend to call each other by our posting names, and often our DH/DP is referred to as Mr posting name. We use DS, DD to refer to our children, and give them a number to indicate birth order, ie. DD1, DD2. We all tend to be quite vague about our locations, unless we are in need of specific advice, so just refer to our LA to give a general idea for people who like to search for info for us.

Anyway, onto introductions Smile

I am Lougle, I am in the South, I have 3 children. DD1 is 4.9, DD2 is almost 3.1, and DD3 is almost 17 months.

DD1 has SN, she has a brain malformation, epilepsy and GDD, probably ADHD with some ASD traits that the paed won't accept because she is attention seeking Grin

DD1 will start at our local Special School at some point in the next week or two.

MummyO3 · 02/09/2010 21:29

hey lougle, thanks for the info there :) you have really nice age gaps, bet yours are as thick as theives too lol my 2 dds are inseperable :) and i hope ur dd1 enjoys school :) xx

MummyO3 · 02/09/2010 22:11

Hi, Smile

I'm Genieinabottle, from the south of england. I have 3 dc.

DS1 is 17; DS2 is nearly 4.10; DD is 2.5.
DS2 has recently been dx with a dual dx of ASD and speech and language disorder.

He is starting school in MS the week after next, and i'm Confused worried about how things will go.

Tiggles · 02/09/2010 22:21

Hi MummyO3
I have been on here a month or so, with 3 boys, DS1 is being tested for Aspergers he is 8, DS2 is nearly 4 and hopefully is NT, but failed his autism tests completely at 18months so likely to be learning delayed in some way, DS3 is nearly 2. I'm in Wales.

Hi I have been around for a little while, I am from somewhere in the middle. I have 3 DD's and one GD my Dd1 21 was nearly DXed with ADHD when she was 9, then the physchologist decided her problems were caused by my parenting style?? We are aslmost certain she has AS but she has no DX. Dd2 14 is NT although sounds just like starlights Dd2.
And Dd3 7 is currently being assessed for a possible Asd, I think we are going for the record for the longest assessment period it is 18 months to date since she was reffered and now we are waiting to see a new community pead because the other one left.
Oh and GD better not forget her, she is 2 and brilliant although she a Dd3 clash alot over sharing and toy touching, oh and Tv channels. LOL.
sorry a bit long but have never properly introduced myself

Spinkle · 03/09/2010 07:52

I'm from the East. My DS is very nearly 6 and just been dx with ASD (but we've known a long time....) and ADHD is being assessed atm.

He's HFA but with speech delay. And very busy...

Oh and I'm a part time primary school teacher (but don't let that put you off...)

roundthebend4 · 03/09/2010 08:25

ernestTheBavarian · 03/09/2010 08:34

hello mummy03, I have 1 ds (11) with ADD, 1 ds (9) with ADHD, 1 ds (6) who is harder than the other 2 put together, and a dd who's 2. I'm living in Germany, still have a week of summer holidays and moving house in less than 2 weeks (2 days after they start school) and about to have a nervous breakdown :) I'm originally from NE England.

Welcome to MN. I have to say, over the years it has saved my bacon many a time. Hope you find is useful too. Good luck with your ds.

LegoLady95 · 03/09/2010 08:35

Hi
I have posted once or twice but am quite new. I am more of a lurker for advice!
I am in Bristol, have 2 DC's, DS1 is 3 and was diagnosed severely autistic aged 2.5. DS2 is nearly 2 and appears to be NT. We live with my DP and I work part time.
DS1 is a lovely, happy boy who communicates with a few basic PECS. He starts ms pre-school next week with a 1:1, but has been offered a place at a special school starting in his reception year.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/09/2010 09:50

hello, am in Edinburgh, have one DD age 3.10, has little speech, developmental delay, muscle tone issues, bad motor problems and asd traits.

woolytree · 03/09/2010 10:06

Hi,
Im in Yorkshire, DD1 is 4.11, recent dx of ASD...more to follow, has speech problems too. DS is 1 and NT so far. Also have two step kids...not kids anymore 18 and 21, both ADHD but one no dx and one dx at 13/14. They live up north and not with us.

DD started school yesterday. :)

Welcome. x

sc13 · 03/09/2010 11:34

Hello! I've been here for a while (well, it feels like a while, it's a year and a half). I live in London, work f/t, am originally from Italy but DH is English. DS (4.5) has a dx of ASD, mostly language and socialization difficulties. He is on the in-your-face, shrieky, speedy-bouncy end of the spectrum.

Ineed2 · 03/09/2010 11:47

Ha ha sc13 what a brilliant way to describe your son, Grin I love it and have 2 of them myself, girls though.

ShadeofViolet · 03/09/2010 11:49

Hello, Im in Nottinghamshire (worst luck!) and have 3 DC's. DS1 is 9, DS2 is 3.6 and DD is 2 next month. My DS2 has ASD and Dyspraxia. He also has a language delay but we are working hard on language, especially receptive. Its hard because DD now understands more than he does, and uses more appropriate language :(

MummyO3 · 03/09/2010 12:57

lol sc13 loved the discripton too sounds like my ds and wooly i hope your dd has a great day :)

OP posts:
CrunchyFrog · 03/09/2010 13:14

Hi, I'm Crunchyfrog, I have DD aged 6, DS1 aged 5 and DS2 aged 20 months.

DS1 has an ASD, pretty mild but affects him in terms of anxiety. He also has minor problems like hypermobility, hypersensitive to light (going for more tests as it seems he may have a form of albinism Hmm) and he is a poor sleeper. He is also hilarious and brilliant, and has just started MS school without any support. Grin

woolytree · 03/09/2010 19:03

She did thanks Mummy03, has renamed her classroom the carebear room.....she has never seen a carebear!
...It used to be the bowels of big school
! Today she told me what she had for lunch!
:)...thats a lot for direct questioning!

mariagoretti · 03/09/2010 19:40

Hi.. Have never done the formal intro thing either. I am from the South, have ds1 nearly 7y with ADHD and probably asperger's/HFA as well. In mainstream school, is good at academics hence no statement. Dd1 is age 4, NT but can be even more stubborn than her bro! One large bump, gender tbc. Oh, and a job.

mariagoretti · 03/09/2010 19:44

Mummy03, if you report your own post with the identifying info, the mumsnet people will probably remove it for you or let you change it.
