can any 1 suggest a pushchair for a small 16 yr old with cp would a maclaren major be ok for him as he weighs 47 kg and does any 1 use a barrett wheelchair at all

think the weight limit on a major is 50kgs so might not be worth getting one as it might not last too long.
someone on here was asking if they still made the Barretts before and i found them this link cant remember who it was that was asking tho?

mountain buggy do an older child one and it hold upto 200lb or 90kg.

I guess it depends on weight/height/seat width/seat depth and support needed...

They may do. Some PCTs offer a voucher scheme and mountain buggy do accept them.

Sorry jjones, the (jokey) pig was more due to the poster's DC's age - at 16+ it can be difficult to access therapists/services with knowledge of paediatric equipment (in my experience).

hi there so a major would be ok then really as long as it is under it limit a friend of mind had a barrett said it was a small child one very compact , hers was very old but still was going strong .......

I had a barrett chair when I was 16 - it was very sturdy, collapsed small but not light (but good for things like camping, not that I shared that widely ;) ).
