Been for ds's hearing review today, glue ear and wearing 2 hearing aids. His hearing is great, back within normal limits, and no flat lines on the tymph test. So he doesn't need hearing aids anymore...I should feel happy about it but.......

I don't really Sad as it just means his other problems are probably more severe than I though, even though the Audiologist and Paed said his terrible speech and other issues wasn't down to the hearing problem I guess I still thought it was (it made sense).

Wow

oh pucca, I'm with you on that one, it's a real bummer. Dd3 has been well aided now for 3 years and still hasn't got all her consonant sounds, let alone many words, tis shit.

But yay! No more faffing with hearing aids and dropping those fiddley little batteries Smile

Thanks BC Smile

I know, no more faff haha, the paed did say to me that the hearing (which we all concentrated on as being the culprit in the beginning) was a red herring, looks like he was right.

This is going to sound awful but when ds plays up in public the aids gave other "peer down their nose" people a visual reason - kind of.

As I said, I should be happy he doesn't need them anymore....

Know what you mean. ds looks average, but gets much more understanding from people that there are 'issues' when they see I am signing to him, (no hearing impairment; LD and other stuff)
