SEN in schools, into battle we go!

It seems that I am to begin the next wave of torture with school! My sons Primary School have left him high and dry - he is 6 - and all year I had been requesting meetings, asking to see books, methods of work, wanting to know how they are managing his condition [ he has EDS, a genetic fault in the cologen fibres that makes everything, internal, external, joints the lot, stretch too much and sublux or dislocate] and pushing together with his wonderful O.T. for the help he needs. It seems this fell on deaf ears, and they said one thing to me, and were doing the opposite in class. I have researched the DDA, and am now onto the Lamb Enquiry, as the O.T. and Paed., and the med team at GOSH all agree that a change of school is needed, but we have to make our case, as all our local schools are either full, or may be reluctant to take on another SEN. HELP!!
His SEN case worker is a mystery mythical creature I think, as not only can I never get her to answer the phone, but I have never met her either!
Any pointers in the right direction, or advice will be fantasic.

Hi mycarscallednev, it might be helpful if you say some of the things your DS struggle with, because all children with EDS have varying levels of ability in different areas.

Does he have a Statement? If not, you could apply for one, which would give him legal recourse if the LA do not meet his needs as specified.

Also, does he have DLA? If not, it might be worth applying, and that may strengthen your case with the school.
