Just when I thought we were going to have a (slightly calmer than last year) calm summer holiday, DS2 has hit full speed.

He has been stimming all day, he is currently pacing backwards and forwards in the living room twiddling his fingers and making noises, he'sbeen doing this for the past hour and won't sit down. He has also managed to upset DS3 every hour since getting up.

Oh well, we had a busy first two weeks so I suppose it was invitable.

Only three more weeks of this. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHH

We have had a few days like this with dd2 (mainly at the begining of the holidays).

Have you got a trampoline? We got one for the dd's a few weeks ago and it has helped so much, instead of running up and down both dd's bounce all day Grin.

I hope he settles soon so you have an easy night. xx

I am finding baths and showers are a distraction for constant pacing! Means my DS needs to stand/sit still as well!!
Agree with Marne re trampoline too! Good luck!

He eventually calmed down. He likes the garden but he gets funny when I've got washing on the lines. Any ideas why?

I was thinking trampoline, but funds are tight with us just moving and needing to decorate/get carpets.

DS2 hates baths and screams at the thought of a shower. We have got a paddling pool though which I might attempt as he likes to go swimming (odd ball that he is).

We managed to get a trampoline for £26.00 in Argos a few weeks ago (well worth the money).

Washing on the line- maybe because it flaps around in the wind (its unpradictable as it flaps around). I used to spend hours walking through my mums washing on the line when i was a child and getting wrapped up in the sheets (maybe sensory).

HERE, it has no net but the dd's have not fell off of it yet Smile.

Right there with you, I have found getting DS out helps (he loves buses and trains) but it is costing me a fortune having him off school and I have declared the next few days zero spend days.

DS loves trampolines, wish I had a garden for one.
Mine enjoys splashing in the bath so I resort to that too - the completely wet bathroom at the end of bath time is soo worth it!

5inthebed · 12/08/2010 20:44

That is a fab one Marne. I might just have to buy one. Thanks for that!

do you think it is just anxiety from having no school day routine?? DS is so CLINGY (even more so than usual) and I think it is because his anxiety levels are up!

I'm going to go look at Marne's link myself now too Grin

Marne · 12/08/2010 20:48

We had to drive quite far to get one (as it was out of stock at our local argos) but it was worth it for the price, its just the right size to fit 2 children on (bigger than i thought it would be). Hope you manage to get one, the dd's use theirs every day.

5inthebed · 12/08/2010 21:16

There are three in stock near me. Will check again tomorrow and reserve for DH to collect Sunday.

Oh, and yes I do think it is anxiety due to lack of routine.

I'm friends with his 1:1 and was goin to see if she wanted to visit next week so he could see her. Her little boy is friends with DS1 so they can play together as well.

Dislike washing on the line - might he have hypersensitive smell and not like the smell of your washing powder?

asdx2 · 13/08/2010 09:18

Don't know if you are aware but these people will fund trampolines

5inthebed · 13/08/2010 09:29

No I wasn't aware of them, thank you so much. I've emailed them to enquire, thanks for that!
