FOR PARENTS, CARERS & PROFESSIONALS
Members of Treating Autism enjoy conference discounts, an up-to-the-minute

Treating Autism Parent-2-Parent conference takes place in London this year. Come

are helping our children. We have an exciting programme of speakers including:

Autism Now) practitioner, will be speaking on the important issue of dysbiosis.
Dr Michael Culp will be covering one of his main areas of expertise, Laboratory
Testing in Autism. Jean Muscroft, DAN! practitioner and parent of a recovered child,
will be talking about her approach to biomedical treatments. Professor Jane Wills
and her husband Jim will describe the biomedical journey taken with their son.
Anita Kuglestadt, Chair of Treating Autism, will be flying in from Canada to give a
talk on decision-making when faced with hundreds of biomedical options.
TA Trustee Jane Georgiou will be offering some practical advice in her presentation
'Biomed on a Shoestring?.
The conference is excellent value (thanks to sponsorship) - only £30 for Treating
Autism members, and £40 for non-members. Places are limited so book now to
avoid disappointment at www.treatingautism.co.uk/events or call 07851 423948.
We will also be organising a Saturday evening social event on the 11th September

has anyone here tried this programme ?

IndigoBell · 12/08/2010 13:29

Looks very interesting. And it's only £40.

I'll definitely go - unless someone here advises me not to :)

Hope they don't try to 'hard sell' me anything.

saintlydamemrsturnip · 12/08/2010 13:35

Treating autism are very helpful. They're not service providers - they're a bunch of parent all using biomed. They won't try and sell you anything as they don't have anything to sell.

They have a busy yahoo group as well - you can find the link from their website.

improvingslowly · 12/08/2010 13:59

went to treating autism conf last year.

It was excellent, really inspirational and started us on bio medical stuff.

Now gluten free, casein free and on various nutritional supplements which have made significant improvement over the last 9 months.

Would really agree with saintlydame - treating autism are great - really good website and the yahoo group is really useful....

Glad to hear that Treating Autism gets a thumbs up from respected MN posters. I hesitated about posting this in case it was hard sell snake oil but it sounds very good. Biomedical has never been "our thing" but I like to pass on info that can be useful to others. Do report back if anyone goes.

Sadly can't go (date) but a uni friend always does treating autism things and finds them immensely useful (she's doing her MA diss on biomed)

TA website cponsiderd a valid reference by uni lecturers, apparently.

sphil · 13/08/2010 19:32

I've just joined Treating Autism's Facebook group and it's been soooo useful.

silverfrog · 13/08/2010 19:49

ooh, do they have a FB group?

TA have been great - lots of good sensible advice.

I might try to go, if we can sort timings/childcare dh would love to come too.

sphil · 13/08/2010 20:23

I would love to go, but that's the only weekend in Sept we're not doing something (a significant birthday looms for me...).

Silverfrog - are you on FB? We could be friends maybe? Smile

silverfrog · 14/08/2010 00:41

Yes, I am on FB. Would love to be friends. Hmm am on under RL name, obviously. Will have a search for your email, and send an invite - I am unsearchable I think.

sphil · 14/08/2010 20:18

Great! Smile. Would be good to be able to be a bit more open than we can be on here

sphil · 15/08/2010 20:47

No you're right - can't find you on FB! So you'll have to invite me. If you can't find my email, my name is quite similar to my MN name.....
