How awful RnB, bet you feel bad I live in dread of DS hurting himself or breaking something as he never leaves anything alone, won't keep a plaster on never mind a bandage. Will you have a problem stopping him picking at it?

RnB - very rekieved to hear it isn't as bad as you feared. What a fright. I hope he makes a good recovery and continues to be a model patient

SleepyJess · 26/08/2005 10:21

Burns are awful in that you think they are ok and 'nothing much' and then after a short while it becomes apparent that they are much worse! DS1 (now 13)did this when he was 3 also on an electric hob (don't like electric cookers.. with gas you can SEE where the heat is!) and it was my fault because for a second I sat him on the work surface near the cooker

Hope he's ok soon RnB

Sorry to hear about this RnB - hope your ds is feeling a bit less sore today

maddiemo · 26/08/2005 14:57

Sorry to hear what happened, I'm glad that he coped so well though and is enjoying being mini-doc.

My ds did a similar thing in a shop, he ran and put his hands on a display of spotlights, which were switched on and at child height. The burn was pretty bad but it just needed dressing.
He still makes a grab for lights or anything bright and shiny.

Oooh, a teaching opportunity ha ha! Hot and Cold, Waiting, Visiting the Dr/Nurse, Where Does it Hurt? etc etc
Pleased it seems OK and he is tolerating the bandage.
