OT for ASD

Here's what I was thinking:

Get a private OT report on sensory issues for ds (5 nearly 6) in time for his annual statement review and shove that at them an suggest they write some OT into the statement.

I've been given a price of £350 for a assessment and report.

Anyone think it would be worth it and would work? Can't afford to chuck that sort of cash at something fruitless...

do you live anywhere near nottinghamshire and are on benefits?? if so i know where you can get one free! otherwise i dunno, i know we would never afford it!!

Thanks MissTired. No to both of those.
Nah, we can't afford it either but figured the DLA and the proceed of car boot sale might nearly cover it!!

Good luck Spinkle, i think it depends where you live, here (south west) OT is refussing to see children with ASD, i have tried 3 times to get OT for dd2 and they wont even do an asesement . I would say its worth a shot if you can fund it.
