again it must be the postcode lottery thing, ds is also toilet training, and ours have never have mentioned about the number of nappies, i have even phoned them to ask them to send less!

glittery · 29/07/2010 15:20

you'll just need to move up here next to me!

ooo twice even!

roundthebend4 · 29/07/2010 15:49

Packs bags gaffer tapes dc into boxes not that mean will give them airholes

they said it's because he progresses to being semi dry in the day so night time might come

What it really means I had no professional input so it's classed as natrual progression,I take ds to the toilet regulary but he does still have accidents and if left will wet as does not get full bladder warnings

Mind that's if they let us out of the local

That's ridiculous logic. DS1 has been semi dry in the day for 2 years now. Heck, he's been potty training for 4 years! I'm not expecting to be able to cancel the nappies anytime soon, especially considering he actually woke up dry this morning, but was so pissed off that DS2 was daring to watch channel five, had a massive tantrum and refused to do the wee in the toilet, soaking right through a pull up, instead.

glittery · 29/07/2010 16:14

lol they'll be flinging the nappies at you up here!
i could maybe see their pont if he was completely dry during the day but if he's still having wee accidents (no pun intended!) during the day and at night then i dont see how they can justify stopping them! Grrr at them!

anonandlikeit · 29/07/2010 17:04

Thats crap, ds2 had nappies from the age of 4, they just asked how amny we needed in a 24 hr period & then a van load turned up.

We just let them know when we wanted to reduce the quantity as he was mostly dry & then stopped them completely when dry day & night (sort of).

Who amde this decision? Have you been in touch with continence service?

roundthebend4 · 29/07/2010 17:39

No it was done through hv orginally but she got sent a form recently to fill in and phoned me said since he is doing it without any help from the contineace service it's natrual progression

I have no number for them neither as Hv

Bottom line is you ahve a 5 yr old that is stilll using nappies you should be reciving nappies I'd shout if you ahve the energy

Lougle · 29/07/2010 19:09

We had the most bizarre experience this last few months.

I phoned about nappies, making it VERY clear that DD1 (4.7) is dry by day but wet at night. They said we would qualify for nappies. I said ARE YOU SURE, they said "Yes".

I went down to fill in a form (30 minutes) where my only contribution was name and address.

I got a phone call after a month to say they had filled the wrong form, and needed another one. We did it over the phone, and it was obviously aimed at day-time incontinence "Does she know what a potty is?" "Does she show signs of awareness?" I had to say "Put a bracket around it all and say 'dry during the day"

I wait a further month and get a phonecall to say "Sorry they have said no, because....."

Guess the punchline??

"....She is dry during the day"!!!!

We get nappies for dd2 (4), we got them through the HV (took a while). TBH they are not that good for night time and i end up buying size 6 huggies or pj pants instead.

MissTired · 29/07/2010 20:45

roun the bend, you anywhere near nottinghamshire? i have some spare libero 7's if any good to you, we get loads more than we need but i darent get them to cut numbers as once he changes to more rubbish ones when these are too small we will need all we can get!

roundthebend4 · 29/07/2010 22:17

ty Im going chas eup the continence team on Monday will track them down further complicated as I live one county drs is same county but services tend come from another

I think you are best to keep it quiet if you are potty training then.
We have only just started getting the nappies dd is 4.4 so am now starting to potty train with no success at the moment.
I wont let them know though untill she is completly dry day and night.
Thanks for warning
