AIBU to be rather frightened? DD1 currently on HRC, no mobility. In all honesty, I think she should qualify HRC + HRM. I can't go out without the Mac Major with her and can't take the 3 children out on my own because I need a pair of hands for DD1.

But I am frightened they will cut us because of the enconomy.

I do have all her statementing guff, and she is going to special school, so that should be a flag, surely?

There is a brilliant cerebra guide which is really helpful and quantifies the exact amount of additional help a child needs to get each rate.

I think now is not too bad a time economy-wise to do the forms. I'm sure things will get MUCH worse with cuts in the next year or so.

I used the cerebra guide last time and got awarded the HRC for 2 years. This time she has a few dx and has a statement, etc., so theoretically I have more evidence. Its just worrying.

I know it is very worrying and time consuming and such crap forms to fill in. My daughter's award now runs until she is 16 which was a bonus last time (she's 12) and it seems totally random how long it is awarded for.

Yes, thanks Justabout, you are a good example.

LeonieDelt, unfortunately DD1 doesn't have ASD. She has some weird migrational-malfunction-of-brain-cells-during-development-in-the-womb dx (widespread cortical dysplasia is the official dx, 'just all a bit squiffy' is the common name).

I am not sure if anyone would be able to back us regarding her difficulties outdoors, you see. Paed only sees her with 2 parents present in a clinic room (one of us looks after her while the other tries to talk to the Paed). Nobody else sees her out on the roadside. Preschool and portage know she runs away when outdoors because they took her out, but she has left preschool now.

Her statement does say about it though.
