our tax credits have just gone down by £80 a month, that's 3 hours less ABA a month that ds will be getting. Thanks a bunch.

(24,500* + CA for 3 kids in south east, one in receipt of HR DLA = obviously we're rolling in dosh)

(*dh has been made redundant twice in the last year as a result of ds' disability)

Really? i thought it was only going down for families earning over £40K a year and it didnt come into effect until april 2011, has it gone down based on last years figures or something?

Yep, we lost £90 a month, too, despite no real terms gain in income. Cost of living up here is really low, so it doesn't hit us where it hurts, but we'll most likely lose everything come 2012 and with 2 kids qualifying for the disability element, that will be hard.

Can I add my thanks for the loss of hours that DS's support worker is available. From 2 hours a week to 2 a fortnight. It wouldnt be so bad had she not been trying to cover the work of an OT (that we were turned down for) and a SALT (who is overloaded with work).

Also, thanks very much for the review of DS one-to-one hours, despite his hours going up from 10 to 15 a week, his one to one hours have been cut from 5 to 3.

I'm sure there will be many more reasons to be grateful over the next few years. Reading about secondary schools going all selective really made my week-end

trying to get to the bottom of it - the only change from last yr is CA - so they give me £106 a month then take £80 of it back

dh has just lost his second job too so that's another £250 a month gone.

Have you maybe lost Working tax credit rather than child tax credit?

have you tried putting your details into the CTC Calculator? its usually fairly accurate?
