Thinking about ABA for 7 year old ASD DS Nottingham area

Hello

My son is almost 7, ASD, non verbal (other than the occasional outburst when a four word sentence will pop out unexpectedly). Extremely cute. He was DX at 3 years old and we've done various treatments/therapies including 2 years of Son Rise (which worked well for a four and five year old but now he needs more structure) and he's currently undergoing chelation therapy (check out www.generationrescue.org for info on this). He's doing well since starting chelation and we're looking at ABA - but we don't like the aproach that seems a bit like dog training as he won't go for that. What would anyone recommend? He's got very complex needs - learns a skill and then another drops off the end seemingly, like his hard disk space is full. But we want to start something to support the (excellent) special needs schooling he gets. Any ideas/contacts/leads/experiences would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks Steph

Thanks for this, don't you find it incredibly expensive? Do you manage to access payment towards it from local ed? He's in school as well and I can't see them stumping up for it. But I read the link and it does look terrific. And he needs something without a doubt that's structured and helps him hang onto his skills a bit better. I'll think on, that's very helpful thanks a lot
