Is this wrong? (regarding autism assessment)

My son is being asssessed for autism, we had observation at nursery and ados test and also the developmental history. We have had no feedback from any of these 3 parts and we were told that we would have a decision once all 3 had been carried out.
The developmental history was done on 6th June and i wanted the report to see if i remebered any extra info and the psychologist also said in case she had made any mistakes as she just scribbles notes.
Well i kept asking for the report and got told it was ready for typing and be sent blah blah and was made to feel stupid for asking to see it even though the psychologist knew i wanted to see before they made a decision.
Anyway Fri 16th July it arrives with loads of errors and it was dated 6th July and also came with a letter stating any amendments i should contact the office.
I had an appointment on Mon with the psychologist so i took the amended report and also additional info i had forgetten which i thought should be included.
I then asked whether any decision had been made and she thought my son had been discussed the week previous before i got my report but didnt know any more. Im angry as first of all there is loads of errors and also no one tells us anything and i thought of additional information and was originally told my son would be discussed on the 22nd July.
Im also annoyed that we are getting no feedback from any observations which were done at the start of June.

My question is do you get reports from the observations or do you have to wait for the end of these tests to be told anything?
Are you also supposed to get the development history before they discuss your child?
Im so peed off as there was loads of stuff missing in the report which was only 2 pages long.

The absolute answer is that ATM it varies; they are trying to develop standarddised ASD assessment ATM (they being NICE) but we don't have it yet.

WRT to the rest, it seems to depend; we've been through it twice and it was different, we found agencies such as CAMHs are mroe open with reports than others, developmental history stillvnever seen 4 yeras post dx with ds1, they don't tend to release that. But you could ask under freedom of information I guess.

WRT to amendments send them in and ask for the meeting to be postponed, theya re quite used to that. happens a lot.

The developmental history was just asking us about my sons development but there were stupid inaccuarate mistakes like 'my son was born underweight but is ok now' when in fact he was a big baby and really underweight. How she could write this wrong?

Do you mind asking the timescale of getting the outcome as it feels like we are just being kept waiting and waiting.

It does feel as if you are kept waiting doesn't it?

With ds1 it took 6 months from first assessemnt / appt to DX but was hurried as he was being abdly messed about at school.

With ds3 it took 3 years, as he has a rarer (but not that uncommon) presentation of ASD (eg rather thann being withdrawn he is 100% extrovert- still no social barriers, just different)

You should in theory be able to contact oyur PCT and ask them for tehir diagnostic procedure and timescales in writing. Some PCT's have autism plans or policies which are searchable online as well, though less than should sadly- and in some cases cuh as ehre (Wales) they exist but have never been implemented (DS1 had aprt of his assessment in England but it's the same system more or less for health)

It sounds pretty shambolic. When ds1 was assessed there was a 6 week assessment (multidisciplinary at the CDC) followed by a meeting with everyone (including us) where the dx occurred (although it was obvious before).

I think it is pretty standard for you to receive some basic verbal feedback straight away, followed by formal reports and maybe a a more indepth meeting to discuss everything
If the Paed or psych is based at a CDC it may be worthasking if there is a family co-ordinator who you can contact, ours was great at chasing reports and ensuring we were kept informed during the dx process .
