alternative source of nappies

DS, 11 years old gets napppies through the nappy service. He currently gets 5 a day but we always run out, as I am aware many of you do as well.

What I want to know is how anyone else gets around this?

Currently we buy huggies dry nites but they are not absorbent enough for more then one wee. I have searched in vain for an alternative but I can't find anything big and absorbent enough that I can buy. Did try the nappy service (NHS) but they refuse to sell us any extra we need and the supplier they use have also refused to get back to me.
I don't want more for free, I am currently paying 25 a month for drynites so would much prefer to buy a product which actually worked.

Any help would be appreciated, have also posted this in SN teens as I can see it will be more of a problem for teenage sized children.

B&M Supplies stock the Libero night time nappies

Also what about asking your local chemist they might know of companys

Debs75 · 19/07/2010 11:51

Glittery He is in size small extra plus in euron form. He is pretty skinny so fit quite well. He weighs just over 5 stone.
Will have a look at the B&M and see about ordering.

I have been told about a company called Euron by the HV for additional needs but the products can also be bought from Redland Healthcare.

DOH! Sorry

Wonder why Euron are being so obstructive?

hi have you considered cloth nappies for night, if its only wee they are easy to wash and you can get them custom made for larger children. Just a thought.

allardyce healthcare
countrywide healthcare
carewear
all sell the euron form extra plus in the small size, worth checking prices though

We use Curity Sleeppants size L (although ds may soon need the xl youth size) from betterlifehealthcare.com. They are a pull up style plain white nappy, that seem to hold more than drynights.

Glittery You are a star
Will check them out later as DS is home now and will demand the computer.
On a plus school are potty training him and we picked him up for a drs appt and he managed to go the whole journey with pants on until we got home.

great news!
ds used to get 5 a day but i had to phone up and get them to send less after he got his toilet chair, he's dry every night now and sits on it first thing in the morning (after a micralax!) and just in the last week he has started trying to tell me he needs a pee, usually just before bedtime, but ive missed it 3 times as he's pretty much non verbal and i've just thought he was moaning
