Ds1 has become a serial poo-smearer. I was wondering if anyone had any advice re nightwear? So far we have tried some racketies sleepsuits that zip up at the back, but he can get his hands up the leg as they are footless, and we are currently using a gro-bag but this evening I have realised he can undo the side zip. I think he needs an all in one with feet and a back zip or a grobag with a back zip - does anything like this exist in size 2-3yrs? thanks in advance.

cant advertise on mumsnet but you can email [email protected]. I am in the process of starting a business making Pjs that zip up the back and have feet etc. as well as t shirts/vests and trousers that accomodate nappies, cullottes and knee pads. Will have samples ready for Sept but email me anyway x

Try nappy on backwards, cloth nappies harder to remove if wrap has poppers, then tights, than poppered vest again on backwards (you can get 2-3 in tesco), then grow bag again on backwards and then fairly tight fitting t-shirt over grobag.

Can't you tell I have been there?

Frankly if he can get through all that he must be houdini and be applauded.

Only problem is hot weather, I haven't figurered that one out.

Good Luck.

thanks - haven't tried t-shirt over gro-bag, that is a good idea...

You can order an all-in-one with feet and a zip up the back in whatever size you like, cotton or fleece.

You can try one of those children's swim suits with arms and legs, or even wetsuits. They only need to be the short ones, but because they are skin-tight they are a lot harder to get hands into to smear. All of the pyjama ones can be too stretchy for someone who is determined enough.

This kind of thing:

as tight as possible.

Our DD is in special ones which we bought online from KC sleepsuits. They have a zip at the back and are footless but have clever ties at crotch and armpits which you can tighten after you've put them in to stop sneaky hands slipping in and wriggling nappy off.

It has been the only thing that's worked for us after every combination of swimsuits, nappy wraps, sleeping bags, back to front...everything.

Thanks for this thread. DS is three and does this and I've been buying sleep-suits and rompers from Next which go up to age 3-4. Love the idea of zips in the back

Aimee3005 · 26/04/2012 10:06

Can't advertise on here, but Seenin make back opening pjs with feet already attached for this purpose. :) good luck!!

Primark do all in one fleece pajamas up to about age 10-11.

Or could you sew on an additional flap and tricky to undo button or two over the gro-bag zip? Those metal buttons they use for mens jeans (think Levi 501's) are usually a PITA to undo. Cheapest solution?

Highly recommended Kc sleepsuits, have a child with severe autism and plays in his pads and there suits are the only thing that has 100% worked, tried almost everything until i found out about them
