Have just posted this on Special needs:education topic too. My ds will be five in a couple of weeks and we suspect he has SPD in two areas: audiological and tactile. This was picked up by a very proactive special needs manager at his school and has since been observed by a developmental paediatrician. He will be assessed by an audiologist next week but unlikely to get any sort of OT intervention for ages.....there's a long, long waiting list even for a clinic. I've been reading a lot about the success some parents have had with sensory diets created for them by OTs and I wondered if any mumsnetters had any experience of this.....and if so, would it, in their opinion be worth breaking the bank to go private to get this level of help. Also, does anyone know of any private OT's specialising in SPD in North London. thanks for your help
