Can anyone explain to me the scoring on this scale? My son has suspected ADHD and we have to complete a form as well as the school. The school sent the form home today and I just wondered if anyone knows how the scoring works. For example my son has scored 18 '3's, 22 '2's, 11 '1's and the rest '0's. What does it mean? Does he have ADHD? Any help from anyone would be really helpful.
Worried sick.

Just answer it as truthfully as you can (thinking about worst case scenario, rather than his better days) and they will work out what it means.

They are looking for similar responses for all settings in order to be able to make a diagnosis.

The scores depend on the questions - I don't know if there's a magic number, but don't panic - once they diagnose, you can move on

And whether you medicate is up to you, of course.

I would agree about just answering Q's as truthfully as possible.
The results from the Conner's will be plotted onto a graph by the health care professionals which will then givean idea of your Son's strengths and weaknesses. This will anable them to get an idea of whether his particular pattern would be consistent witha picture of ADHD.The numbers in themselves are somewhat meaningless. It will be (or should be!) just one tool used in his assessment and will be taken into consideration along with all the other information gathered such as by talking to yourselves or observing him in a classroom setting or perhaps some pyschology testing of your Son.
It really is best that as much informationas possible is gathered as then it is most likely that the correct diagnosis can be reached or not.
I know the whole assessment process is really stressful, but try tonot worry too much (LOL not that I managed that!) and just be as forthcoming as possible with information.
Good Luck with it all.
