What happens with an IEP if the child has to be home educated?

We are appealing our LEA's decision not to put our child to a special school but given the LEA's record, things are not too hopeful.
Finance mainly they say.

My child is extremely vulnerable and it would be to her detriment if she went to the enormous and pretty rough school of their choice therefore I have no alternative but to plan for home ed.

What happens to her IEP now if she is home educated? I honestly don't think I could cope very well if trying to educate her myself but there is no way I would put her to the LEA's choice of school.

Has anyone had experience of this situation?

The IEP can get ripped up. You might have to demonstrate that you are providing a suitable education but it doesn't have to be via a current IEP.

There's a HE special needs list- lots of good advice on there.

I forgot to add that I am in Scotland in case of different laws etc.
