DS is 7. He's relentless.

He doesn't stop talking.
He will not do anything alone. I have to force twenty minutes in a weekend of hin doing something alone and even during that he will moan or ask to show me something.

He badgers constantly. He's allowed two biscuits at the end of church. He does not stop trying to get another.

It's just relentless and constant. He can never just be.

Clubs. Activities. He needs his confidence building. Beavers. Swimming. Musical instrument. Throw everything you can at him.

Have you tried noise cancelling headphones/earphones for you?

Since you have posted on the SEN board, I presume DS has additional needs?

IdBeLionIfISaid · 21/06/2026 19:56

Sorry yes he has ASD

He does beavers, swimming, tennis, a martial art and will be starting an instrument in September

Does DS have any SALT input?

The not doing anything alone can sometimes be an anxiety response. What are DS’s anxiety levels like?

Has ADHD been considered?

IdBeLionIfISaid · 21/06/2026 22:04

No SALT input

I've raised ADHD but school have been fairly dismissive.

Could be anxious, tho he's been like this since he was very little.

I would look at SALT.

Request a meeting with the SENCO.

If they won’t refer, you could speak to the GP.

IdBeLionIfISaid · Yesterday 11:45

Senco is on long term sick leave. I'll approach the GP, thanks
