Hospital flagged concern after missed appointments for SEN child

Hiya. I have a sen child and my son missed two hospital appointments and they’ve flagged a concern. I have booked a new appointment but like they don’t understand the struggle I have getting him there and doing it as it’s a glucose test… so now I’m worried the woman at the desk says it’s nothing to worry about. But I’m such a worrier. 😭 what happens now?

You could get a social worker knocking at the door (well I did) however I was pleased to let them know how the council are failing an education for my child. So they soon released I meant business and walked off and apologised (you child prob struggles with the drs surgery too so it will be all on your child’s notes too)

It depends what they mean by flagged. It could mean, like the pp suggested, that a referral to children’s services will be made, which may result in them contacting. Alternatively, it could mean the hospital has just flagged it internally to monitor and if there are no further concerns, nothing more will be done.

Does the hospital have a learning disability liaison nurse, learning disability and autism liaison nurse or autism nurse? If so, contact them. Even if DC doesn’t have an LD &/or ASD, it is still worth contacting them.

I did ring them and they said that it’s only flagged the hospital and went to gp and she said not to worry as it hasn’t gone to social services or anything and to make sure I go to the next one
