I have a newly diagnosed ADHD DS113. Where do I start with trying to understand how his mind works? He’s been masking for so long I almost feel like I don’t know the real him at all.

ADDitude is a good place to start if that is the type of resource you mean.

Following. My ds has just been diagnosed with inattentive adhd at age 18. I feel awful that I didn't recognise the signs when he was younger. I most likely have ADHD myself but I'm in my 40s

It can feel overwhelming at first, especially when you realise how much someone may have been masking. I found that learning about ADHD from people who actually experience it helped me understand things like executive function, emotional regulation and why certain behaviours happen.

ADHD Certify is also a useful resource for learning more about ADHD in a clear, accessible way. It covers different aspects of ADHD and can help families better understand what’s going on beneath the surface.

Also, don’t be too hard on yourself. A lot of parents only recognise the signs once they have a diagnosis to look back from.
