Safety Worries No longer Contained

Our twins (boy/girl) are 4 years old. Highly likely to be ASD/ADHD who knows the assessment is up to 34 months wait and we are at 6 months.

The twins would run off outdoors without backpack reins but as they are getting bigger these are not enough. They are too strong now to contain. We need something stronger and bigger for them. I have seen SEN vest types on Amazon that do up at the sides with good reviews but worry they would be able to undo these. What is your experience of these please or others? (my daughter in particular is very nimble at opening things).

Also, becoming dangerous in the car. My daughter has a car seat that is secured down the side of her instead of at the front but she manages to get out at times. With meltdowns and throwing anything that comes to hand at me if angry when i am driving I need something to contain them further unfortunately. Any ideas that have worked for you please?

Look at Crelling harnesses for the car. They are expensive.
Have you applied for DLA?

I second looking at crelling harnesses for the case

Hobbledehoo do reins for older DC. The clips fasten towards the back rather than straight down the side. Alternatively, Crelling also does walking harnesses that fasten at the back.

I'd recommend a sturdy dog guard between the back and front seat. We always use dog guards for safety, simply so that no shopping/toys/laptop flies through the car and hits someone in case of an accident.
