Chat GPT EHCP draft

I know AI can’t be relied on for 100% accuracy, and I do worry about putting too much personal or identifying info into a programme, but I’ve just used Chat GPT to give me some example notes for our EHCP review, based on DS’s needs and OMG! Pretty much what I was thinking about in a sketchy way is presented in a coherant and logical way, including parent notes for meeting, suggested draft provisions for report etc. It’s what I would have come up with after a day of research. Is anyone else using AI in this way?

I don’t find it particularly useful tbh. I think its answers lack depth or nuance and while it might do a passable job, I don’t think it does a good job.

If you’re someone who really struggles with the form then maybe I could see the value. But if you usually manage pretty well I’d wager that your version would be better.

I don’t mean to be flippant. If you think it’s good enough then use it. Lord knows SEN parents could do with something that helps us save time, given the pressures we face. I just think it’s pretty weak and just trots out stereotypes - which isn’t a surprise as it’s just regurgitating content scraped from elsewhere.

ChatGPT shouldn’t be relied on. AI makes up evidence, rewords evidence to mean something the evidence doesn’t actually say, makes up case law, misunderstands legislation, invents barristers’ names. To the point it was commented on in a UT case last year. Amendments proposed during the AR process need to be rooted in the evidence.

If you use it properly it's amazing.
Don't rely on it for sources (makes them up). But is a godsend for wording things nicely and suggesting angles you may not have considered.
Input from you is essential and double check everything. The more you give it to work with, the better the outcome.
