I'm thinking of moving yo Liverpool once my DD( autism plus ADHD plus hearing impaired but academically able)completes her GCSEs. currently at a specialist provision class sizes 4 students to one teacher and one sometimes 2 TAs.

Definetly needs this, worried about next steps and what is like in terms of support I. Liverpool

Be aware if you move LA with an EHCP, the new LA becomes responsible for the EHCP, including the provision in F, and where it is still feasible for the young person to attend the named placement (you don’t say how far you would be moving or if your preference if for DD to remain in the current placement), the placement named, on transfer.

Withins 6 weeks of the transfer, the LA must inform you when they will review the EHCP. They must review the EHCP within 12 months of the previous review or 3 months of transfer, whichever is later. There is the potential the new LA will amend the content of the EHCP e.g. amending B&F and they may not name a placement you want/believe can meet needs. There is no guarantee they will name a specialist placement even if DD is currently in SS. You will have the right of appeal, but it is something you need to be aware of. There is also the chance they will undertake a reassessment of needs or even propose to cease to maintain.

yes I know this she wouldn't be staying in her current placement one because she will be 16 and have finished secondary education and two, because it would be well over 4 hours away from Liverpool. My question is really about what support and education choices are available for a young person with SEND in Liverpool, how the EhCP will be handled is something else.
