Not using the toilet

My child is awaiting a diagnosis for autism. They have recently started school and will not go to or use the toilet for the whole day at school. There is no continence issues, they just won’t go. Has no issues using the toilet at home or when out and about
Does anyone have any tips to try and encourage them to go as it is a long day to hold the toilet

Can DC explain why?

Does DC know where the toilets are?
Does DC know they can ask to go? Who to ask? And can they ask?
Does DC find the toilets overwhelming e.g. too noisy, busy, older pupils, others’ behaviour?
Is it because DC is busy and doesn’t want to leave what they are doing? Will they go if prompted? Is DC drinking enough during the school day?
Can DC manage their school uniform independently?

DC just states that it’s ‘yucky’ or that they don’t want to go. I have been in the toilets on several occasions and they are always clean.
DC is selective mute but will speak to teacher and teaching assistant and knows they can ask and is also encouraged to go through the day however never does. School encourage to use at point through the day when the toilet is empty.
Drinking plenty and is able to manage their uniform independently. Does not like to have barely any clothes on however the toilets are stalls that lock so no one would see anything

Would DC use the disabled toilet?
Would DC use the toilet if physically taken rather than just encouraged to go?

I have been taking dc into the toilet in the morning before class however they just look and then leave or say they won’t come in.
