Safe sleeper bed

A friend of a friend has autistic child who until recently has used a safe sleeper bed, she now has a fully padded room, in case it’s relevant child is 6 non verbal.

I just wondered why this would be swapped and the benefits of each. If I knew her better I would ask. She is truly a fantastic Mum and I know she has done anything and everything to ensure her child gets what she needs.

It would be swapped if the bed was no longer safe/meeting needs. (Or if the family funded it themselves/via charity funding.)

A padded room rather than just a specialist bed enables the child to be safe in the room when not in bed, e.g. during the day. Some find the beds claustrophobic. Some padding also reduces the transmission of noise for those DC who are noise sensitive &/or cause more noise.
