When the LA ignore you, how often do you email?

Currently have complaint in process regarding several ehcp failures. Currently have an ehcp. Another issue though has now happened and timescale breached seperate from my current complaint and despite emails no one replies, how often is it considered reasonable to chase up? We are talking stationary timelines on this also? I have email twice in 1 week, that too often?

You could try phoning ( though the person will likely be “out of the office”)
Email the head of SEN
Head of Children’s services
If it continues and they aren’t adhering to the legal timescales or EHCP legally binding sections , try the SEN parent support service in your area!or ultimately your MP.

Two emails in one week isn’t excessive, assuming they aren’t on the same say. I would avoid sending multiple emails a day. You don’t want to be accused of malicious communications - LAs like to use that line then claim the consequence is they will ignore all communication from you to place the blame for them ignoring you on you.

How frequently to chase depends on the situation.

Depending on what the issue is, threatening JR, pre-action letter, JR might be a better route than complaints.

Be careful with SENDIASS. Some are good but too many repeat the LA’s unlawful policies.
