Thinking of moving to England send provision

Long story but thinking of the pros and cons moving from Scotland to England for work. Does anyone have experience of whether the schools have Send provision and are they nurturing . Current school here is very nurturing and supportive of DS and his behaviour. It’s very inclusive. He has not even an official diagnosis but is in the system. I’m worried he would run into trouble in the English system?

Every school has a SENCO and the SEN policy and school offer will be on their website. Each Local Authority has a Local Offer for SEN on its website.
Obviously even within one authority schools can vary greatly even if the authority has a strong reputation for SEN services, there may be schools who are not as accommodating.
Some schools may be more nurturing than others. Usually you’d get a feel for that on a visit.
Some schools may have the Inclusion Award, Dyslexia Quality Mark or Parent Partnership Award for e.g. These would be good indicators. You can also look at Ofsted reports of course.
You’d need to look into provision where you are considering a move to.

If DS is happy, settled and well supported, I wouldn’t move. How supportive schools are depends on the school.

thanks unfortunately I might have to be moved to keep my current job or move to a new job so it’s tricky!

There is a great deal of variation. The more specific you can be about which LA, the more likely you are to get useful advice.
