11 year old son residential ADHD and taking his meds

My 11 year old son has a school residential coming up in a few weeks. He is away for 4 days and 3 nights. He takes two different tablets for his ADHD, one in the morning and one in the evening. He doesn’t like anyone to know about this and is worrying about what his friends will say if his teacher pulls him on his own to take it. We have been trying to think of an excuse he can give them (if they notice) as to why they are taking him to one side or another reason he might be taking medication that is unrelated to ADHD… any ideas would be much appreciated!?

Hayfever tablets would be an easy lie.

About 20% of our y6 had medication on residential last time, so they didn't have much time to wonder about why other children had meds.

You should loop the teacher in though, so they can be as subtle as possible.

I think the best thing would be to speak to the teachers and tell them that he doesn't want anyone to be know he takes meds for ADHD. Hayfever or allergies is a good idea from pp.

@ThesebeautifulthingsthatIvegot‘s suggestion of hay fever tablets is a good idea. Definitely speak to the staff who will be going too.

That is perfect thank you, I almost can’t believe I didn’t think of that myself! Thank you I will definitely speak with his teachers too.
