mental health team

hi sorry my 13 year old has suffered mentally for a good few years now but primary school didn't back me up but since she's been at high school they notice it alot,her dad has bipolar but never seen him but acts just like him,school have really helped alot and helped me get the help she needs by them simply agreeing with me now chams are actually listening to me,does anyone know what the mental health team will do they are going in to school.on Tuesday to see her but what goes on during there time with her,can they diagnose anything?

Hello. The MHST will initially meet with your daughter and then also have a meeting or call with you to get both your views of what any problems are and what they can help with.
Then they triage with their team and decide the best course of action. This could some sort of therapy or CBT for example.
My son has sessions in school for his anxiety and ruminating thoughts.
Wishing you the best and hope that they can offer some support.

This will vary area to area and also depends on what team it is. It may be the MHST as the pp suggested but it is also possible it isn’t. They should speak to DD (how much they tell/speak to you will depend on the issues and DD’s capacity/if she agrees. They may also speak to school staff. They may suggest further assessment. They may suggest interventions to help.
