DLA for suspected ADHD and ASC

So I've got my DLA forms for my 7 year old son. He has suspected ADHD and ASC and there is a meeting booked with the school for his referral this month. He has learning difficulties probably due to the fact he struggles to concentrate and its a struggle to get his attention. He also suffers with bad constipation and has a poor diet and will only eat very specific beige food and not alot at all.

My worry is if I have enough supporting evidence. I have a GP report log of the times I've been in for his constipation and it's logged that he has a poor diet. I have a hearing test report from 2022 which states no concerns but mum thinks he has selective hearing. I have report from the school about him in class and one to one session which then leads on to say they think he should be referred to be assessed for adhd. However I feel like his conditions are played down in the letters from school. They say he needs some additional help however I'm pulled over by the teacher everyday for my sons behaviour/making silly sounds/hitting other children. Also there's no mention of his toilet needs and eating in the school reports.
The school have made picture card system for my son to help with bedtime at home as that is time-consuming and stressful which leads to very chaotic mornings waking him up for school. Could these picture cards be used as evidence?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the school upon a reference from my sons teacher.

I'm just so anxious and overwhelmed doing this form.

Do you have IEPs/support plans from school? Emails? Do you have in writing the discussion of why the school gave you the picture cards? That would be better evidence than the picture cards themselves. Have you spoken to the GP or school nursing team about DS’s toileting needs? Once the referrals for assessments have been completed, you can send them.

If you haven’t already used it, look at the Cerebra guide to help you complete the form.

@StrivingForSleep I don't have any IEP's or that I know of, am I best asking the school if there is anything in place or would I already know about it?
I do have it written on a report of why the school have made the picture cards for bedtime.
Also we are late to school almost everyday due to how long it takes to get him up,dressed and out if the door, am I best getting a report of his attendance to show this do you think?
Thanks x

Yes, ask school. You could also consider making a Subject Access Request.

Send the report about the picture cards.

It would be better to get something explaining why you are late rather than just that you are late. You can be late for any reason. On its own, it doesn’t indicate care or mobility needs. Whereas, evidence explaining why could.
