It can be normal. However, I would also want to rule out the possibility of absences and check DS’s hearing.

@BrightYellowTrain I don't think there is anything wrong with his hearing as he can hear when I ask him to get something or if baby shark is playing in the next room etc I will question the daydreams I know I had mentioned them before and they said they where just his adhd but I worry now as my wee girl has absent sezuires but there is a cause from her sezuires.. and they are alike in ways with the daydreams it's just hard to tell as he his non verbal and his adhd is very high functioning but in ways he would never stop what he is doing or do it on a scooter swing etc more when he's in the car bored in a shop when am looking or in the house so that's a reason I think he's just in a wee world of his own but of course I will question it again

I have very similar with my daughter.
There is a condition called Maladaptive Daydreaming you should explore.
It is not officially recognised yet, but it has now been proposed to be in the British Journal of Psychiarty.

We participated in this study which was very helpful for us:

Not saying this is what your child has as I am not a doctor just a parent here.

The lady that runs the study:

Principal investigator Prof. Soffer-Dudek is leading author on an international position paper calling for the formal recognition of Maladaptive Daydreaming, co-signed by 29 expert researcher-clinicians in the field of dissociation and published recently in the British Journal of Psychiatry.

If you have any questions please feel free to msg me.
