Injury at school advice

A month ago my son who suffers with ADHD and possible ASD was removed from his lesson for being disruptive and left in a corridor alone with 3 other children who had been removed for similar circumstances with no supervision. An incident took place with the boys messing and a door struck my son with such force it knocked his teeth out.
He is now under the dental hospital until he reaches 18 and currently can't attend his lessons so is in isolation for his own safety. He can no longer do sports for 18 months and needs to eat a soft food diet. The school do not seem in the slightest bothered this incident occured. If anything it seems to be more of an inconvenience him being there. He has missed a month's worth of education and isn't likely to be back on track for a few months. Has anyone had an incident where their child was injured at school? Are the school liable for a claim based on negligence?

It does sound like the school has been negligent to one extent or another. How much would depend on the specifics of the circumstances.

I would absolutely expect them to take it more seriously. Have you complained?

Does DS have an EHCP? What support are they providing?
