This doesn’t surprise me, some other eating disorders have brain differences.

Not surprised. My ds has it and yesterday his older sister who is seriously into baking made chocolate covered brownie truffles. We asked him to try them and he had a panic attack and because he absolutely adores his ds nibbled a microscopic bit of chocolate coating and then ran out of the kitchen proclaiming they were the best brownie truffles ever. It doesn't matter if it's cake, sweets or chocolate, he is too scared to eat anything other than milk, cheerios, McDonald chicken nuggets (no other brand) and green peas. None of that must touch. He was brought up in a family of foodies.
