Quirky primary schools in Southampton

Bit of a long shot...

But can anyone recommend the best primary school for a quirky, creative neuro diverse 6 year old based in Southampton. Current school not really cutting it. Mixed large classes seem to be making symptoms worse. Teaching style of reading and writing is so very dry.

In my head I'm hopingto find a very creative environment which positively fosters friendships and celebrates differences. Current school trys it's best but only so much they can do when they are based in a very non diverse village. My DS sticks out like a sore thumb, bless his heart. We're not BME just.... Different to the folks around us you could say.

Fingers crossed this post leads to something 😊

If independent is a possibility you could look at New Forest Small School.

It’s a long way from you but I would urge you to look at any of the XP schools in and around Doncaster.

Otherwise you could look at a UTC (University Technical College) but they’re mainly (if not all) secondaries, but good to bear in mind for coming years.

All UTCs are secondary settings.

Unless the XP primary schools are more supportive of DC who need a more individual approach than their secondary schools, I wouldn’t put a child who needs a different approach in one.
