If you have more than 1 neurodivergent child, does one do you have to be ND?

should say, ‘does one of the parents also have to be ND?’

I know sometimes it can just happen with one child, but the more I learn about ND and those that are ND, the more it seems to be genetic. And with those who have two (or more) in a family
at least one of the parents seems to be. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? Does anyone have 2 or more children who are ND in some way and do not think they or their partner are too?

I don't know the answer but I'm diagnosed asd, have two dc with asd and one awaiting adhd assessment.
I suspect my father had asd and my brother may have adhd (has a dc withnit and definitely always shown traits).

I'm one of 4 siblings.
Me - DD is ADHD/dyslexic
Sib 1 - DC1 - ASD/ADHD, DC2 - ADD
Sib 2 - DC1 - I reckon HFASD, DC2 - ASD
Sib 3 - DC1 - ASD/ADHS, DC2 - Almost certainly ADHD

Pretty sure Sib 3 and I are both ADD and my father almost certainly is either ADD or ADD/ASD. However Sib 1 and Sib 2 are definitely not ND.

Family history is a huge flag for neurodiversity, but you don't necessarily have to have a parent with it.
