Dysregulated and nosebleeds

When my ds is going through a bad spell it often coincides with frequent nosebleeds which I think happen around changing seasons particularly autumn and spring. I'm trying allergy medication at the moment but it doesn't seem to change anything... I've only ever had 2 nosebleeds but I don't believe they should hurt.

He has a diagnosis of autism and likely adhd too, he is well supported at school and we do our best.... The only obvious thing that connects his really tricky times is the nose bleeds so just wondered if anyone had seen that before?

Our DS had terrible nosebleeds, still does at nearly 18 but not quite so serious as when he was 8-15. Allergies to pollen, ADHD and sensory processing (possibly mild ASD but not diagnosed so I won't give him that label) have left him very susceptible to stressful events.

Yes I would say that they are related to emotional disregulation.

He has missed a lot of school because of them, but I'm convinced that he sometimes used as an excuse in the end to get out of going to a difficult classes!

There is a special nasal cream that can be prescribed that is the step before cauterisation, which I personally wouldn't do. That worked for us, but it needs to be used multiple times a day.

Nosebleeds run in the family on both sides but DS are/were extreme.
