Can anyone please recommend resources you have used successfully for a child with dyslexia and ASD for maths, english and science?

I’m looking for two, maybe 3.

We’re getting quizlet and looking for others.

For English dc (who has asd and dyslexia) used films, YouTube clips and comic strip books of some of the texts (went from a predicted 2 to a 4). The English teacher said that they weren't always accurate portrayals but advised them in this case because if dc could get the gist of the storyline then it would help. Also the English teacher told dc to stop worrying about spag and concentrate on understanding the texts as we weren't getting anywhere with spag and the % available marks for understanding the text is bigger than spag. This took immense pressure off dc.
Also used you tube clips for maths and science.
I have another dc who has different sn needs she finds it easier to concentrate in the school environment so does homework/revision at school so may be worth looking at where is best for dc to study.

You could look at Tassomai.

Thank you. I’m always a bit skeptical about him
using videos because he ends up watching animal videos but we’ll set timers and give that a go. He’s suggested Mr Exams so we’ll
try that.

Can you elaborate a bit on the comic strip
books of the text? Are they readily available on
amazon, etc?

We’ve begun thinking about where would be best for him to revise. From what he says, he doesn’t get much support when revising at school
although his EHCP stipulates full
time support.

I’d never heard of Tassomai but it looks good so we’ll try. Thank you for your recommendation.

This is just sn example (dont think this was one we used it was 5 years ago now) but this kind of thing was more accessible as dc dint feel as overwhelmed.
MacBeth: In Full Colour, Cartoon Illustrated Format (Comic Book Shakespeare) https://amzn.eu/d/4okGjrG

If provision detailed, specified and quantified in F of DS’s EHCP isn’t provided, speak to the school. IPSEA also has a model letter you can send to the LA because it isn’t optional and the LA is ultimately responsible for ensuring it is provided. Having said that, revision lessons won’t be a huge part of normal lessons at this stage. New content is still being taught. Unless you mean DS doesn’t have a full timetable and some time is supposed to be spent re-capping content etc. as per his EHCP?

That looks good, thank you. He certainly gets overwhelmed when faced with a huge amount of text in one go.

Thank you @EndlessLight . I’ll look for the model letter on IPSEA. They did the same for his revision for end of exams last year. They seems to be continuing. Apparently, they need to see « what he can do without help (mind boggling), when he has specific exam access arrangements and support throughout the day in his EHCP.
Your last sentence is spot on. He’s studying towards only 4 awards so he’s quite a lot of free time. They’re not providing the what’s stipulated in the document then.

If the provision is detailed, specified and quantified in F, it must be provided. If the model letter doesn't work, you need a pre-action letter. SOSSEN can help with this free of charge, but there is a wait, so you might want to look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, if the wording is vague and woolly with wording such as “access to”, “would benefit from”, “regular”, “up to”, “or equivalent”, “opportunities for”, “as appropriate”, “would be useful/helpful”, “such as”, “e.g.”, “etc.”, “as required”, “as advised”. If this is the case, you should request an early review. IPSEA has a model letter for that as well.
