I know this is the education board but it felt more of a fit for the topic I hope that’s ok. We’ve had contact with the community disability team but they’ve said they can’t provide any visits for another couple of months. Is there anywhere else to try in the meantime? Struggling with intrusive thoughts and things going on their head, very distressed and struggling to eat. They have Downs and although have had poor mental health for a while and are on ADs it’s not been like this before. GP has no suggestions.

If things are at crisis point there will be the crisis team.

Depending on what you mean by struggling to eat, A&E may be required.

How old is the person you are talking about? Do they attend college?

Thank you for replying. I wasn’t sure if the crisis team only dealt with suicidal people and fortunately they don’t know what suicide is. Would it be worth contacting them? They’re in their 30s and work, though can’t at the moment.

The crisis team isn’t only for actively suicidal patients.

Thank you I will have a look into that then.
