That won’t cost the earth. I’m sure my son, 5yo has SEN. Either ASD or Sensory Processing Disorder. Along with other signs, he will only wear tight fitting clothes and it’s becoming a nightmare. He is busting out of his 4-5 yo T-shirts, his belly and bum always on show, but the 5-6 are too loose. These tshirts are now fraying but he is adamant he will not wear the 5-6. Big meltdowns, smashing up rooms etc. No one is happy. I’ve seen compression types that’s inline but the selection is poor and pricey. He doesn’t so much need compression, though may benefit, but really just detests loose fabric and any labels etc. Bottoms are ok as we have cycling shorts and leggings.

Any high street hacks for this please? It’s so draining and he’s unhappy.

For the winter you could try standard long sleeved thermal tops. They tend to be tight fitting. (Mine would often wear them in summer too.) I did splash out on a compression vest but mine wasn’t that taken by them and found them too hot under a tshirt. Tight fitting tops were better. Certain brands of pyjama tops tend to be quite tight fighting, and some would pass for a standard top. Try searching for Boden ones on eBay or Vinted.

Also, I can’t think of the name of them but you can get two rectangle of stretchy fabric sewn together with a Velcro slit on one side for you to get in. Might that go some way to meeting the need?

Also an OT told me that if baggy clothes were an issue then massaging their arms and legs before you put them on would make it easier to get them on.

We have naturally progressed from leggings to trackie bottoms as he’s aged, so there is some hope!

Could you try tumble drying the T-shirts on high in the hope they shrink a little?

Or try different brands since they fit in different ways. Or girls' T-shirts which are often closer cut.

Muddy Puddles thermal base layers as tight and second Boden PJs. I get both on vinted. Also girls clothes tend to be more tight fitting so perhaps look there for navy and grey if they are too girly.

I bought some socks and tights recent from Sensory Smart. They have some garments that may fit the bill.

I forgot about Muddy Puddles. They are a big hit here too.
