ABA and other therapies

My son is 4 and non verbal. We have been doing ABA for three months and he has made heaps of progress (but still non verbal).

My son was unable to understand instructions and recognise common objects such as body parts, colours, animals, ball etc. He is now able to point to objects when asked can you show me x or can you point at y etc.

My question is, can anyone recommend other thearpies or things I can do along aside with ABA and what was your experience like? I was thinking to start doing private speech and language again, or should I wait bit longer?

My second question is that I am based in North London, are there any clubs or play centres out there for children with Autsim aged around 4 years old.

Also just to make it clear, my son loves his ABA sessions, and it's all through play and positive reinforcement.

Please monitor the ABA closely.

Many autistic people say ABA may be harmful long term and cause some mental health issues.

Please do some independent research.

Thank you for your advice but I have done my research ! My son wouldn't have been doing ABA if I hadn't. I am also physically present at all sessions. I can say that it isn't all that different to what school teachers do and what parents would do when teaching there children.

ABA isn't what it used to be years ago. It depends on the individual tutor and what there teaching is like.

Alot of ABA overlaps with what Speech and Language therapists have been telling me to do etc. The main difference is ABA is alot more intensive and more 1.1, and they actually pay alot more attention to your child and identify exactly what the barriers are for your child and identify ways to help etc. Atleast this is what my and mine son's experience has been so far.

does ABA involve specific speech therapy? Or could you find one specialising in this area? Im in greater manchester and have decided speech therapy for now but really want to do ABA therapy. My little one is definitely autistic although not diagnosed but he regressed and his speech completely went a year ago and is showing more and more signs of autsicm. Hes 3 next month and I’m desperate to try ABA. Did you have to do the RT training to do ABA?

Looking for reputable ABA therapist in greater manchester area for 3 year old boy with austism? Any advice and if RT training was required
