Has anyone here had their child's school directed to take them despite saying no to consultation?

This is potentially the situation here. School have said no but in the absence of any other options (every school consulted has said no) the LA are directing them to admit. I like the school and believe with support the child could thrive but I'm worried about how supportive they will actually be given that they are being forced to admit. Has anyone been in this situation and has it worked out?

This happens a lot. Sometimes the school is supportive and the objection to the consultation was more politically motivated and about funding. Sometimes the school is less supportive, but with a watertight EHCP, it still works well. Unfortunately, sometimes the school is unsupportive, and it doesn’t work out well.

I don't want my child to have yet another failed setting 😭. What happens to a child when there is literally nowhere for them to go?

If it is inappropriate for provision to be made in a school, there is EOTAS.
