Right to choose ADD assessment

I'd like my 9yo to be assessed for ADHD, and had read that I could use the 'right to choose'. GP says the NHS waiting list is 3 years long, and that right to choose are no longer accepting referrals for children. Does anyone know if that's correct, please, or should I go back to them? Many thanks.

What does the website say they usually let people know any changes on there? If not ask them, they've been very approachable. Id definitely recomend them. I've just had an asd assessment as an adult, I was told 18 weeks when I was referred, it ended up being 13 months (still not bad).

This says you have the right to choose, for children. I've emailed them!

Glad yours came through.

Right to choose applies to children as well as adults.

Right to choose isn’t one provider, so some providers may have closed their waiting list or no longer be available via right to choose. Providers will have their own websites, there isn’t one website for all right to choose providers.

Thanks. I think I'll find a couple of providers and then try the GP again.
