My daughter is 4 and due to start school in September, he provision has just been changed from mainstream to specialist, she only says words and phrases from peppa pig, so can't tell me if she needs a drink or anything yet, she has been diagnosed with autism.

her EHCP case worker is currently trying to find her a setting, my parental preference was the mainstream school mum son attends Unit Provision, they've said yes at consultation but just waiting to see if they place her there, I asked today where else they're looking at and he told me 2 places half an hour away, it's making me feel sick the thought of her having to go in a taxi on her own, I know she'd have a carer but still, she's so little 🥺

a bus might not be so bad but still I'd worry, has anyone had to do this? I know it might be silly because it might not come to this, but how can I put my 4yo in a taxi and let them take her all that way?

As difficult as it is, try not to worry. Reception DC often travel 30mins or even more via school transport. Once settled DC often cope better than you think they will.
