ADHD rest breaks not implemented

Hi. My son is 18 and taking A levels in Yr 13. He has ADHD. During his first paper he was expecting to have rest breaks but he was told his name was not on the list. He used a toilet break to rest a bit but obviously he didn’t get that time back and it was a shock to not receive them, when he was banking on them. He had to take his meds to get through it at all and he says without that, he would have been totally lost. He suffered also because there was a needless conversation due to the lack of rest breaks and his confusion at this, which wasted yet more precious time.
I emailed college immediately after and they maintained they had no evidence on file of his recommended rest breaks and official diagnosis. I trawled my emails and found I had sent all evidence to them, including his diagnosis and prescription and recommendations including rest breaks etc over to them two years ago, when he joined. Is there anything I can do? School have gone silent since receiving the proof from me, after initially maintaining their stance. They have said they will implement rest breaks from now on. But it’s too late for paper one.
What do you suggest? Do we have grounds to appeal or resit?

Did DS have rest breaks for mocks and any other tests/exams? Did you speak to the exams officer &/or SENCO specifically about access arrangements rather than just emailing evidence including the recommendation? Did you get a response to your initial email nearly 2 years ago acknowledging the need for access arrangements?

Special consideration is possible for those who don’t receive previously agreed access arrangements. Your problem might be if the college had not previously agreed them. Was it the exams officer you spoke to following the exam?
