Sensory issues- keeps flooding the kitchen

My little girl is 3 and is awaiting a diagnosis of autism. She is speech delayed and is forever sensory seeking especially where water is concerned. She floods the kitchen running the water. I’ve struggled to find some tap locks due to the shape of our kitchen taps and the tie wraps were too short, so I’m looking for something else now. This goes on all day. She just won’t stop, especially now we are in the holidays. I’ve removed the washing up bowl, there’s no plug. I’m debating on shutting the water off as she just want stop. I’ve looked for alternatives but she is putting cutlery down the cooker vent bits on the top, she refuses to wear clothes and climbs everywhere. I’ve looked at the sensory lights but would need to glue them down as she emptied her brothers. She spits juice out and plays in it. If I mop the floor she dives on it so skid all around on her front

Lock on the kitchen door?

Have you had a home OT assessment, and has DD had a sensory OT assessment?

It is hard, but ultimately it sounds like DD needs closer supervision.

She’s constantly supervised, this is when I pop to the toilet I’m on the verge of asking for a catheter to be fitted. I’ve had to look at a private ot assessment(I did the same with my son) as you can’t see an ot in our area. It’s really hard to get in they send you leaflets and discharge you. The only referrals we have had are for salt and a community paediatrician.

I’m currently looking at getting someone to fit those key locks as I had a hook and eye on my bedroom and she kept smashing into the door in a paddy and smashed the lock off. She’s really strong for her age and knows no bounds.

We also have a spare tv in the kitchen that she likes to watch. I can’t find the tap to turn the water off as this is looking like a likely solution for the minute

Whatever LA you live in you can request a home OT assessment to look at aids and adaptations to make the house more suitable for DD’s needs. This is separate to a normal OT referral from e.g. the GP or HV.

Does DD have an EHCP? If so, that can include sensory OT even if sensory OT isn’t funded in your ICB.

Have you looked whether Home Start can support you?

Turning off the water doesn’t solve the other issues of being unsupervised in the kitchen. It isn’t easy and is exhausting, but DD really needs to be more closely supervised. Can you take DD with you to the toilet?
