ASD and ARFID

My 2 year old has suspected ASD and is currently undergoing the starting process of eventually potentially getting a diagnosis. She’s under IEYS and SALT and health visitor is looking to refer to peads for an autism assessment once all reports are back to send off.
one of the things that is really concerning me is her eating, it’s getting worst and worst and I feel like I’ve tried everything. She’s very sensory and pretty much only eats toast and crisps now. I still offer her a variety of foods every day but she’s not interested. I’ve been to the GP twice but they’ve said they won’t do anything unless she’s dropping weight. She’s currently a healthy weight (which I’m sure is because I still offer her the foods she will eat otherwise I dread to think what her weight would be like!) but I’m concerned about her teeth and nutrition. She does have multi vitamins and I brush her teeth twice a day but I’m still worried. I want her to see a dietician but GP refuse unless she’s losing weight which is really frustrating me because it shouldn’t have to get to that point before we can get help. I also don’t have the option to self refer in my area. Does anyone here have any advice on what I should do?

Is there another GP in the practice you can talk to?

Have you spoken to the HV and SALT? Both will be able to refer to a dietitian. If not, when you are seen by paed they can refer.

Sadly that’s the referral criteria. You won’t get accepted by a specialist team. Talk to health visitor.
